RE: The old age question, to leave open or closed a boiler automatic fill valve?

I have heard arguments for both sides. I have read conflicting instructions via manufacturers. What is your take on the subject? Do you leave your automatic fill valve open or closed on boilers?

We always leave the fill valve off when the system has glycol in it. This way we don’t risk diluting the cut if there was ever a small leak.
