RE: Introduce Yourself
I’m Tim Bagnall, an HVAC tech in Tucson, Arizona. Got into HVAC in 1999 after getting out of the US Navy, where I was a chef. Started in new construction doing rough ins, and setting furnaces, coils and installing registers working for a large company. Moved up at that company to field supervisor, installation manager (which included retrofit), and ran the sheet metal shop. Started a new division doing Aeroseal, blower door testing, air balance and duct testing, over the years also did many manual D duct designs, manual J heatloads, and took every class I could. From supply house classes in one evening to 40 hour BPI building analysis, NATE certified in air distribution, heat pump, gas furnace, and air conditioning, BPI, NCI, NBI, and many more. Left that company in 2013 and took a job as a service tech at a smaller company with only a few techs. I’m the only HVAC tech for the last 2 years, we’ve hired several techs, with plenty of experience, yet very little knowledge and they don’t last very long. Married with kids, and grandkids now. Build cars and do custom paint and bodywork in my “spare” time, also build guns and like to shoot them. Grew up as an Air Force brat all over the country, and in England. Enjoy learning more about HVAC and teaching others.
