RE: Amperage, Static and Air Flow

Many techs think that as static pressure increases the “load” on a blower increases. Let’s discuss this.

On the amp side, the PSC motor amps will decrease since all it’s made to do is spin, and if there’s nothing to move it’ll “freewheel”, but on the ECM motor the amp will go up since it’s made to deliver either constant torque or volume of air regardless of static pressure (up to a programmed limit).
